Light and LED experts

Page history last edited by Geoff Pitfield 14 years, 10 months ago

Saw him speak at dorkbot a few months back.  If it illuminates, he seems to have built it:  Jonathan Foote Ph.D. specializing in LED and high-tech lighting design, sensors, programming and reactive environments. http:/www.rotorbrain.com/jtfdesign

In answer to my question to the board about dynamic lighting driven by a website's activity, the best answer was Ambient Devices (www.ambientdevices.com). They make a couple of cool LEDs lights whose colors can be controlled remotely, either set to public data sources (e.g. weather) or whatever you choose to feed your device through the API (each device is individually addressable over the paging network). Available as either finished products (http://ambientdevices.com/cat/orb/orborder.html) or you can get just the guts of it.

Developer manual is here: http://www.ambientdevices.com/developer/
